History

U DLOUHÝCH...est.1892  at the main intersection at Sadu Bozena Nemcova is celebrating 122 years of continuous existence.

And therefore today is undoubtedly the oldest preserved inns in Ostrava. Plus it has today in order fifth candidate.

Czech patriot, Karel Long (1854-1927), founded the tavern to the already quite busy place as one of the first Czech inns had a lot of German Přívoz. Derived from Lipnik and his colleagues helped him financially to buy a house and open it in 1892 inn. For comparison, Ostrava Czech brewery and the first brewery in Ostrava was until five years later. In that year it was in Přívoz sixteen pubs, but only two were Czech. Karel long prided himself on the fact that his inn was really Czech. First, he took a beer from Lipník, then Ostrava. He bought into the bar only Czech newspapers and happily showed his Czechdom. June 27 1906, the day before he came to visit Ostrava Austrian Emperor Franz Josef and Karel long ad announced in newspapers at that time, in that day in his inn will be making rendezvous Czech hosts. Interestingly: admission to this concert then was 32 cents, one beer cost 8 cents and ten hours of hard work in the underground miner had earned three crowns!

In 1893 he was in the pub at long established Czech boating club Perun, still functioning, and Charles himself founded with other International Reading Association, which campaigned Czech books, giving lectures, poetry evenings and so on. Above all, but the inn at long revolved good beer.

Son of Charles, Vladimir (1892-1948) then led the pub until his death. Had no choice but to seize the scepter Vlaimírova wife Marie and his older, then čtrnáctiletým son Radomir (1934), and so they manipulated as a minor. But only briefly, because the fiftieth year we communists took pub. Marie it could still work for about a year, but then there could only live in the house. Finally moved out of the house sometime in 1967. The Communists had allegedly bought the inn properly for more than eighty thousand. Marie never talked about any money.

Radomir had apprenticed in the industry and worked as a laborer. Pub came in 1991 in restitution back. However, in a disastrous state. On paper was the longest pub owner since 1948, but in fact on their property could only watch from the street. Paradoxically, however, fared best pub just in times of totality. Paced day hundreds of people heading to work on the shaft to industrial enterprises. There was a transfer station commuter buses and trams. In the morning, two o'clock and five o'clock here the place was packed and summer were the days when there vyčepovalo to twenty-six barrels of beer. That's over 2500 beers a day !!!

But they were also times when the inn was on the verge of bankruptcy. For example, in times of economic crisis in the thirties were days when he sat in the pub only two people drank beer by candlelight and protopilo more than earned. Inn helped to construction of bowling. Mary received a dowry for her father built. On the surface even used blood from slaughterhouses. It was then mixed with Celine and created the mixture resembles concrete and it spilled like bowling surface. The inn, moreover, helped in difficult times precarious. For example, excellent cuisine in the Protectorate. Meat was not really so came the skill. And on the menu appeared stewed kidneys, liver, rice, pork feet, or even pork tails with křenem.Také held there hunting feast. "

In 1924 he visited the inn at long TG Masaryk. The procession with the president went around and thirsty T. G. Masaryk had to stop and ask for us at the inn of the siphon. Bad language even say that in our country used the toilet, but we do not have one hundred percent confirmed. Often we also had long ago attended an opera singer and actor Mr. Premysl Koci, who played for example in "Chobotničkách" or in "An even bigger jerk than we had hoped," and others.
During the Protectorate in the inn ate three times a day the Germans, who had their own cooks and those fighting for a place on the plate with Mary.

On the day when the Red Army liberated Ostrava, still remembers the oldest of long, Radomir.
Soldiers came away from Hlučína and people enthusiastically welcomed at first. In doing so, they shot a collaborator, but then left him three days lying in front. In the evening on the day of liberation came to an inn, a barfly with a Russian commander. If you could be liberators vykoulet one barrel of beer. As the sun set, the Russians came again. They say they are looking at the inn if not some Germán. During the next hour became an inn průchodním place. Red soldiers took everything out of the house, ate all the meat and drank all the beer, including perfumes Ms. Long that contained alcohol. Red Army soldiers who are unable to help a beer, he impaled bayonet, golden beverage let flow into and out of the tub, then kneeling lapped like dogs.

In recent years the pub has reduced traffic in the Ostrava industrial restructuring and closing shafts. After the emperor had here stretch from Vienna college, there have been Železničářská city. Was there an industrial company, around manholes were plenty of houses and lived in them thirsty miners and laborers. Just a block around the pub and lived a hundred people, now, six lives here.

Today we want to focus on that even the younger ones know where to go for good beer, drink or kafe..za friendly price. We domesticated access and time-proven quality.

It is the pub in February 2013 and was sold to owners new Kamila and Vladka  who want to continue the established tradition.
